Understanding the advantages and characteristics of thin-walled bearings with equal cross-section

2023-08-15

Equal section thin-walled bearings are a type of bearing with special section width and thickness, and the same section size can match multiple different bearing inner diameters. Compared to standard bearings, the width and thickness increase proportionally as the inner diameter of the bearing increases, while thin-walled bearings with equal cross-section increase the inner diameter without changing the cross-sectional size.

There are three different types of thin-walled bearings; Deep groove ball bearings and four point contact ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings. Compared to standard bearings, thin-walled bearings can more effectively optimize system design to reduce total costs. These three structural types, combined with different steel balls and cage types, can create a variety of thin-walled bearing products based on limited cross-sectional dimensions. Due to the fact that the cross-sectional size of the thin-walled shaft does not change with the inner diameter, the installation space requirement remains unchanged, and only the weight changes slightly with the inner diameter.

Used in the fields of medical equipment, optical equipment, infrared scanning equipment, and industrial robots, installation space and weight are key considerations in overall design and manufacturing costs. In many cases, even though the market price of thin-walled bearings is higher than that of standard bearings with similar apertures, thin-walled bearings can save a lot of costs in system design and application by reducing installation space and weight.
